Manic Street Preachers - Manic Street Preachers (often known colloquially as "The Manics" not "The Preachers") are a British rock band often associated with the Britpop scene, and were one of the biggest bands in Britain for a period in the late 1990s. They are best known for their wild early exploits, the mysterious disappearance and possible suicide of Richey James Edwards (Richey James, as he preferred to be known), as well as for a succession of strong iconoclastic albums and energetic gigs.
